A departure from the usual huffing and puffing….did you know that you can use tomato ketchup for cleaning brass? I read it in the UK’s Daily Mail, a newspaper leaning to tabloid gossip , but it does some good editorials and a money page that is user friendly. Anyway I tried it on a brass and silver bangle and it really works. Just rub it on, rinse it off and it buffs up beautifully. (No not that Buff you young hopefuls..the old fashioned one.) And then there are banana skins..Leather needs a little help? Rub the inside of a banana peel on anything made of leather to spruce it up. Any leather, shoes, coats, etc. It’s the potassium that gets rid of the marks (its good for us too)Wipe away the residue and polish (buff!)with a microfiber cloth.. And vinegar… I have always been a fan, for cleaning toilets, floors, gargling when you have a cold, putting on insect bites. Also potato skins with baking soda as a cleaner for stoves etc. Now if you ruin your copper, stove, toilet, leather coat do not blame me, try the Dail Mail or people now long gone.
