Oscar will be awaiting your pleasure tomorrow night friends and frankly every film and every person involved in all the films should win this year…the standard is very high at least in the main categories. I have said this before but I will say it one more time, I was very disappointed that WADJDA…the Saudi Arabian film did not make it into best foreign film category, nor GLORIA the wonderful Chilean movie. However I have no doubt it will be a Stellar evening and I hope many of you will be watching it. All the Best pictures nominated, there are ten, deserve the award. Maybe the way the Industry is going at the moment, with all the great talent having to try even harder to get their films made and then seen, has upped the ante and we are seeing more and more extraordinarily good films getting made. With the major Studios just not there for the real filmmakers any more, their attention being on adult comic films, action, gore and other exploitive content to get the audiences in and eat their popcorn, there is neither the support nor interest from those Majors now. I think anyone who goes into this industry now to make quality product has the heart of a lion and the skin of a rhinoceros. So let’s bless the Oscars, the glitz and fun and give all those involved in film making the applause they richly deserve.
