Jane writing a blog!
Long time no see…cliche, but true. I haven’t been here for a bit, not since the Jubilee. Anyway, here I am again, in case you’re interested.

It’s been a busy couple of months. I am writing this from Idaho, back, after living and working in London again. People ask, where do you live and my answer generally is “in the middle of the Atlantic!” Both places now – really. That commute between Boise and London is getting very familiar. One soon I will stop off properly in Seattle (my entry and exit point between America and England.) I have only been there once and think it’s a fascinating city, with a lot to offer. Plus it’s ocean side, my favourite, I have a strong affinity with sea…it is one of the most calming influences in my life. Last time I was in Seattle I went to the Chihuly Garden and Glass exhibition..it was amazing, what talent there is in the world.

American Independence Day
It is the 4th of July, American Independence Day, here today…when the Americans celebrate their freedom from the oppressive English…and the Brits wonder how we managed to lose such a prize. No surprise really, given the size of the US and the innovation of its people, they weren’t going to stayed tied to the UK for long…isn’t that the reason they left in the first place? The musical Hamilton tells the story so beautifully and with great wit.
Anyway here I am again for a while, until I get the call to return to the UK – for more work hopefully. My garden is lovely and although it is very hot, it is a good place to relax and re-charge the batteries and catch up with those talented people I have worked with, making films here. Like this one!

Last Embrace made with Cary Judd and the Garcia Brothers
Idaho is also a good place for me to try new things. There is always so much going on in London, there isn’t the time. Idaho offers the quiet and the calm to work on new ideas. I enjoy writing and doing audio recordings of stories I have written. Plus it’s fun to record poetry and short stories written by others. And it’s a bit of an acting work out…”use it or lose it” applies to many things! The technical challenge is fun too, getting stuff out there in the world. I want to do it myself, instead of relying on others all the time and it’s quite a learning curve. I now have joined in with many others and started a podcast on a platform called Buzzsprout.com (thought – that sounds like a promising name!). Here’s the first one, you may have heard the story before, but I had to start somewhere. I am working on something new as we speak!
